Ton
A ton is a measure of mass and weight. The ton, commonly referred to as the short ton, is 2,000 pounds, or 908 kilograms, in the United States and Canada. The ton, sometimes known as the long ton, is equal to 2,240 avoirdupois pounds, or 1,016 kilograms, in the United Kingdom. The tonne, sometimes referred to as the metric ton in the International System of Units (SI), is defined as 2,204.623 pounds, or 1,000 kilograms.
Pound
The imperial and US customary systems of measurement both utilize the unit of mass known as the pound (symbol: lb). The precise weight of the international avoirdupois pound, or today's standard pound, is 0.45359237 kilos. 16 avoirdupois ounces make up an avoirdupois pound.

To convert a ton measurement to a pound measurement, multiply the weight by the conversion ratio.

Since one ton is equal to 2,000 pounds, you can use this simple formula to convert:

pounds = tons × 2,000

The weight in pounds is equal to the tons multiplied by 2,000.
 For example, here's how to convert 5 tons to pounds  using the formula above.

5 t = (5 × 2,000) = 10,000 lb
